Getting to our apartment

Our address is 113 Park Place, Apt. 3, Brooklyn NY 11217, which is between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. There are two trains very near: the Bergen stop on the 2/3 and the 7th Avenue stop on the Q/B. Note that Google Maps and some of the other mapping sites put 113 in the middle of an intersection which is wrong. We’re actually well into the block.

This map shows our apartment correctly and includes subways.

TO OR FROM MANHATTAN ON THE Q/B

If you take the Q/B train to Seventh Avenue from either direction, after you exit the turnstiles take the left-most stairs. These will take you out in front of bunch of shops, including a Chinese-run hat-and-glove and knicknack place, bodega, a Chinese taco stand and I don’t know what all. You are on the south side of the street. Continue walking in the same direction as you were when you came up the stairs, west, keeping the street on your right. In just about a minute you’ll hit Seventh Avenue. Kind of to your right you’ll see a Duane Reade (they’re everywhere), which sits at the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and Seventh Avenue. Just to the left (to the south) of that Duane Reade is Park Place, right there at the intersection of Seventh Avenue. Walk downhill down Park Place. Our place is on the right about two-thirds of the way down the block. There’s a huge ivy-covered tree in front of it. Call when you arrive, 646 286 2260.

FROM MANHATTAN ON THE 2/3

If you take the 2/3 train to Bergen Street, when you get off the Brooklyn-bound train and exit the turnstile, you go up the stairs to the very left. They’ll take you right up to the intersection of Bergen and Flatbush Avenue. Continue walking in the same direction as you were when you came of the stairs, taking care to stay on that same sidewalk and on that same side of the street, which will take you in a rightward corner curve. You should not be crossing a street yet. In less than a minute you’ll get to the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Flatbush Avenue. There’s a big video store right there on the southwest corner, right next to where you’re standing, with Flatbush Avenue on your left. Make a right there onto Sixth Avenue. Walk down Sixth past St. Marks Avenue, past Prospect Place, then to Park Place. Make a left on Park Place. Our place, at number 113, is on the left about one-third of the way down the block. There’s a huge ivy-covered tree in front of it. Call when you arrive, 646 286 2260.

TOWARDS MANHATTAN ON THE 2/3

If you take the 2/3 train to Bergen Street, when you get off the Manhattan-bound train and exit the turnstile, you go up the stairs to the very right. They’ll take you right up to the intersection of Bergen and Flatbush Avenue. Cross Flatbush, and then go left kind of uphill up Flatbush. Continue walking in the same direction, taking care to stay on that same sidewalk and on that same side of the street.

THE G TRAIN

Take the G to the Fulton Street stop, which is about a ten-minute walk from our apartment. When you exit the station, walk southeast down Fulton, past South Elliot and to South Portland. Take a right on South Portland. Keep walking down South Portland about three blocks and cross Atlantic Avenue. South Portland will change into Sixth Avenue. Keep walking south on Sixth Avenue, cross Flatbush and then three blocks after that take a left onto Park Place. Our place, at number 113, is on the left about one-third of the way down the block. There’s a huge ivy-covered tree in front of it. Call when you arrive, 646 286 2260.
